How does BTA work?

There is some evidence that muscle-relaxant anti-wrinkle injections may improve mood beyond the effect of improving appearance.

BTA has to be prescribed and only after a face-to-face assessment and administered following a personalised treatment plan.

I feel strongly that BTA injections are a medical procedure and should be administered by a medically trained therapist.

My anti-wrinkle injections are pure medical-grade Botulinum Toxin A (BTA for short, often referred to as "Botox" which is actually just one brand of BTA).

Botulinum toxin A (AKA "botox") is a protein molecule that blocks the action of muscle fibres, causing them to relax. 

The muscles of the face are attached to the skin, so when they contract they pull on the skin, causing the appearance of wrinkles.
